Mrugavani National Park-Hyderabad city tour




Mrugavani National Park is situated at Chilkur in Moinabad mandal . 20kms distance from Hyderabad. It is inaugurated by NT Rama Rao 0n 6/12/1998. It is actually preserved by forest department. A wide area of around 900 acres or slightly far less located on the way to chilkur Balaji temple, from Hyderabad. The park has been home to over 600 varieties of plants and animals.
Very good place to spend a while especially if you coming back from Chilkur Balaji Temple. At the entrance of the Park, you can find a small museum exhibiting the flora & fauna available there.

Over 80% of the forest area is fenced, but the remaining area can be walked around to see some fresh flora, ferns and fauna, in a museum at the entry itself.
Apart from the different flora and fauna the Mrugavani National Park presents more than 100 species of birds such as warblers, peacocks, lapwings, and flower peckers.

Some fauna we can see are    

Panther, Cheetal, Wild boar, Sambar, Jungle Cat, Civet Cat, Mongoose, porcupines, fox, Black naped Hare, jackals, etc.

Snakes:                                    


Snakes,  Monitor Lizard, Rat Snakes, Russell Viper, Cobra etc.

Quails, Peacocks, Warblers, Quails, Flower Peckers, Ducks, Partridges, Partridges, Curlews, Lapwings, Babbler, Koel etc.


We can also see different types of trees like Teak, Bamboo, Sandal, Picus, Palas, Rela etc.

Butterfly Park has wide variety of colour butterflies and is definitely a good sight.
Sometimes you may get a Safari vehicle arranged by the park by which people who cannot walk much can move around and observe nice variety of hundreds of various types of small plants, lot number of peacocks and deers . Minimum 10people has to be there to go if you wants a ride.
Recently they provide canteen you can find all veg or non veg, snacks &drinks specially biryani all are at low-cost rate or you can bring from your home or outside food, you can enjoy anything  you can take cameras also permitted.

  • The park has a high view point in the form of watch tower to watch the animals at very closer.

  • Park has also got a library, museum, auditorium with wild life exhibits and environmental education centre.

The park can be visited at any time; The Park is open on all days of the week except Mondays from 9.00 AM to 5.00 PM.

Rs. 10/- Per Person


Much crowd will be there in weekends, Monday is closed.

How to Reach

By Air The nearest airport to Mrugavani National Park is Rajiv Gandhi international airport, Hyderabad which is 31 Km from the Park. 

By Rail The nearest railway station to Mrugavani National Park are Nampally and hyderabad decan railway station Junction which is 14 KM away from Mrugavani National Park .

By Road There are a number of government and privately operated vehicles that go to Mrugavani National Park at frequent intervals.
